Band Assignment, due 4/15/11

Intermediate Band:

* Your theory/rhythm test was made available April 1 and is due April 29. It is a take-home, open-book test.

* Those participating in the Omni Fair...watch for details in email this week! See you Thursday, April 14 at 6pm at the Church of the Nations gym in Watkinsville.

- Long Tones, p. 14-16

- Lip slurs, p. 19 #3 and #4

- Major scales Concert F through Db

- Chromatic scale as discussed in class

- Chromatic warmups

- Scales in thirds from White book, practice 4 a day until you've rotated through the entire section, repeat.

- Breath control exercises, rotate through all.

- EE 2: #63-74 *The next pass-off will be #49 on April 15

- Sheet music

Lip Slurs for Brass

- Chromatic warm-ups or (warm-up according to your private instructor's directions)

- Scales in Thirds, p. 33, all 16! Practice with the different articulations. Keep practicing the 16 arpeggios with different articulations.

- 9/10 OR 11/12 scales. 6th year and up must prepare 11/12 scales. You have to pass-off to receive the MVM award.

- Maxwell: Ex. 12 and "March No. 1." You are to write in the beats for "March No. 1" in cut time. Write in pencil and finish the entire exercise. Also prepare Ex. 13 and March No. II

- Slane

- Newcastle March

- 25 or 6 to 4

Your theory test is due at the end of April. You have plenty of time to complete this.
