Band Assignment, due 2/10/12

Beginning Band

*p. 18, numbers 90 and 91

*p. 19, numbers 92-97

Again, a pass-off will be picked from those numbers....I won't tell you the specific one....but, maybe something like 91, 93, or 94

Intermediate Band

- Practice breathing exercises we worked on in class

- Work on Concert F, Bb, Eb, Ab, Db, Gb scales. Work especially on Db and Gb scales with a metronome starting at a slow tempo and working to get faster playing in the scale pattern.

- Work on the full chromatic scale for your instrument (Hint: It is all the notes on p. 46-47 of your EE Bk. 2.)

- Practice solo and be ready to play with the accompanist this Friday (Feb. 10)!

- Blue Maxwell bk. 13-14

- EE Bk. 2 #63-68 a pass-off will occur on any of these lines Feb. 10

- Continue working on God Bless the USA and This Is My Country

Advanced Band

12 major scales, one or two octaves according to your scale sheet.

Chromatic scale full range

Hilliard: p. 46, Arpeggios. Practice #1-4. Play with the following articulations from p. 45: #1 (articulation 3) #2 (articulation 4) and so forth.

Solo

Maxwell: Review all the patterns from Exercises 1-11. Make sure you're proficient in each rhythm. Practice "Praise" p. 27.

The Pink Panther (several folks have not learned their parts! Please work on this so we can make progress as a band)
