Band Assignment, due 4/1/11

Intermediate Band:

Review music theory concepts such as steps, accidentals, key signatures, enharmonics, dynamics, cut-time and syncopation. Your theory/rhythm test will be available April 1 and is due April 29. It is a take-home, open-book test.

- Scales in thirds from White book, practice 4 a day until you've rotated through the entire section, repeat.

9/10 OR 11/12 scales. 6th year and up must prepare 11/12 scales

Maxwell: Ex. 11 and "Jubilation." You are to write in the beats for "Jubilation" subdividing each beat into eighth notes. Write in pencil and finish the entire exercise.

-Pass-off on April 1 will be chosen from the arpeggios. For Alexander, Laura, and Kelly Belle, you will pass-off on either #1,3,5,7, or 9 only. The rest of the band may be asked to pass-off on any of #1-#16.

There are NO additions to last week's assignment except to remind everyone to practice their solos diligently. Play through your solo at least twice a day with no stops to work on endurance.
