Band Assignment, due 3/18/11

Recorder Class:

Practice pages 24 and 25, and "Beethoven's Ninth" (first two lines) is the pass off.

Intermediate Band:

Theory assignment: musictheory.net, choose "lessons" then "steps and accidentals" and "key signatures".

This is an interactive lesson with audio. Please study these concepts because we will review in class.

- Long Tones, p. 14-16

- Lip slurs, p. 19 #3 and #4

- Major scales Concert F through Gb

- Chromatic scale as discussed in class

- Chromatic warmups

- Scales in thirds from White book, practice 4 a day until you've rotated through the entire section, repeat.

- Breath control exercises, rotate through all.

- EE 2: #48-49 The next pass-off will be #49 on April 1

* Solo music- put finishing touches on solos for Solo Fest. Be sure to practice with your accompaniment, if at all possible!


Advanced Band

There are NO additions to last week's assignment except to remind everyone to practice their solos diligently. Play through your solo at least twice a day with no stops to work on endurance.
