Beginning Band
Much progress made by several students this week. Remember to keep practicing 20-30 minutes a day, 5 days a week to get great results! Our band is only as good as it's weakest student... Let's all earn next week's yellow belt! =-)

- p. 42 EE bk. 1 buzz or crow rhythm measures 1-36
- p. 6 EE bk. 1 practice 5 note warm-up at top of page
- #15-26 EE bk. 1 practice buzz/crowing and with the CD or DVD
- prepare for pass off on #18 on 10-7
Intermediate Band
Chromatic warmups, chromatic scales as before.
Major scales for your school grade from memory. See the GMEA website.
Chromatic scale pop quiz. Play the range for your school grade that corresponds to the GMEA chromatic range.
Allstate lyrical etude all the way through
Rhythm: Hilliard p. 85, bar #36-65. Play on a single pitch at least once a day. If you are having difficulty with this write in the counts.
Maxwell: Exercise 2 and Mr. Bach
Sheet music: Armed Forces Salute, Festival of Hymns, America the Beautiful, The Star Spangled Banner.
Advanced Band
Chromatic warmups, major scales, chromatic scale
Allstate lyrical etude all the way through
Minor scales: learn and play the relative harmonic minor scale for each major scale that you're required to know. They are ALL in the Hilliard Book but you need to play them from memory.
Maxwell: Thanksgiving
Sheet music: same as Intermediate band, add Vaudeville Bounce.
