Band Assignment, due 1/21/11

Recorder Class

- review note names and recorder fingerings

- make up 2 measures in 3/4 time (3 beats in a measure)

- practice p.12-13 in Recorder Express book

- pass off on Hallelujah Chorus on p.12


Intermediate band, all winds and percussion:

Warm-up as discussed in class

Lip slurs for brass

All middle school GMEA scales

Chromatic scale

Work on scales in thirds from white book p. 32, do at least two per day, rotating until you've practiced all then repeat. Remember to work through the different articulations on p. 32.

p. 54 breath control exercises, do 2 per day with metronome.

All sheet music

The Red, the White, and the Blues must be performance ready in one week!

Chromatic scale full range of your instrument. Add notes a few at a time.
